United Methodist Woman
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of
women whose Purpose is to know God and to experience
freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a
creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission
through participation in the Global Ministries of the Church.
The unit meeting is
held at the church on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
However, the unit does not meet during the months of July &
August. The Oaklawn unit consists of 4 circles that all meet on the
2nd Tuesday of most months. Lydia Circle meets at 10:00
a.m. usually at the church. Priscilla Circle meets at 1:30 p.m.
usually in member’s homes. Sarah Elizabeth Circle meets at 7:00 p.m.
at the church. Grace Circle meets at 7:00 p.m. at the church. The
circles are responsible for distributing the Sunday altar flowers if
the donors don’t wish to distribute them. The circles are also
responsible for thoroughly cleaning the church kitchen once a month. |
